  7. LIR's FPX family of communications boards provides a platform for OEMs,
  8. software developers who want to connect PCs to Wide Area Networks and develop
  9. applications such as mainframe communications, OSI applications, file
  10. transfers, LAN interconnection, terminal emulation and many more. The FPX card
  11. is available on PC, PC/XT and PS/2 running DOS, OS/2 or UNIX System V. It has
  12. its own processor, RAM, communications controller and DMA, runs all the
  13. low-level communications software thus freeing the host CPU. The FX card is
  14. available with a realtime operating system and debugging tools optimized for
  15. data communications reducing the application development time. The board is
  16. software configurable and the communication code is completely down-loaded for
  17. ease of use, support and maintenance. It supports both leased and switched line
  18. and comes with various line interfaces including RS-232, V.35, X.21 and ISDN at
  19. rate up to 64 Kbps per channel.
